English Version

P3KI GmbH5 is partnering with EKBO1, KKBS2, the Evangelische Bank3, and digital.wolff4 to roll out our authorization solution P3KI Core as the secure foundation underlying the Digitaler Klingelbeutel (digital collection bag), a mobile payment terminal.

P3KI Core ensures that configuration of the Digitaler Klingelbeutel is only performed by authorized parties, even if both the Klingelbeutel as well as the device used for configuration (like a smartphone) are offline.

P3KI Core’s highly flexible trust model allows the delegation of arbitrarily precise permissions (e.g. varying levels of configuration access, installation of updates, triggering counting of a collection). Two key aspects set P3KI Core apart from other solutions: firstly its ability to delegate permissions without requiring central services, and secondly not having to prime a Klingelbeutel beforehand to allow configuration tasks with a specific party. Because of this the solution not only offers the expected security but also a high level of flexibility in a way not achievable with other existing technologies.

We’re happy to present, together with our partners, a secure and offline-capable configuration scenario for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Further applications in other industries are already being planned.
